Business Development Representative – Insurance Sales & Customer Acquisition

Full-Time | Glenmont, NY
Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Expected Earnings $45,000–$70,000 | Base + Commission + Bonuses

Build Relationships. Create Opportunities. Grow Your Career.

We don’t hire people just to sell insurance. We hire people who know how to build relationships—and we teach them the insurance business.

We’re looking for someone who naturally connects with people.

Someone who starts conversations. Someone who remembers names. Someone who can turn a conversation at the grocery store, the bank, a community event, or their kid’s practice into a new relationship.

This is a sales and business development position for someone who doesn’t want to sit back and wait for opportunities to arrive. You’ll work agency-generated leads, develop new prospects, deepen relationships with existing customers, and create new opportunities through your own networking and community connections.

If you’re outgoing, self-motivated, competitive, coachable, and energized by meeting people, we want to talk to you.

What You’ll Do

As a Business Development Representative, you’ll help drive agency growth through a combination of new customer acquisition and relationship-based sales.

You’ll

  • Generate new business through prospecting, referrals, networking, lead generation, and relationship building.
  • Respond to and convert agency-generated sales leads.
  • Sell Property & Casualty insurance to new prospects.
  • Conduct needs-based conversations to understand each customer’s situation and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Identify multiline opportunities with existing customers, including Life insurance.
  • Develop referral opportunities through strong customer relationships.
  • Build your own pipeline instead of relying exclusively on incoming leads.
  • Engage with our local community and help expand the agency’s presence through social media and community involvement.
  • Provide relationship-focused customer service that builds loyalty and long-term retention.
  • Consistently work toward individual and agency sales goals.

Who We’re Looking For

Insurance experience is helpful. Personality, drive, and initiative matter even more.

You may be a great fit if you

  • Genuinely enjoy talking with people and meeting someone new.
  • Are outgoing and comfortable starting conversations.
  • Have a natural ability to build trust and relationships
  • Are self-motivated and don’t need someone constantly telling you what to do next.
  • Enjoy sales, competition, goals, and measurable results.
  • Look for opportunities instead of waiting for them.
  • Are comfortable asking for the business and asking for referrals.
  • Bring energy and a positive attitude to work.
  • Are coachable and willing to improve.
  • Take ownership of your results.
  • Want to build a career rather than simply find your next job.

If you’re looking for a position where you simply answer the phone and wait for business to come to you, this probably isn’t the right opportunity.

If you’d rather finish a day with 10 new opportunities you created yourself than explain why there weren’t enough leads, we definitely want to meet you.

Experience & Licensing

Previous insurance or sales experience is a plus, but insurance experience is not required.

We are especially interested in candidates with backgrounds involving sales, business development, customer acquisition, banking, hospitality, retail, automotive sales, fitness, wireless sales, or other relationship-driven industries.

Candidates who already hold applicable insurance licenses are strongly encouraged to apply.

Not licensed yet? The right candidate will receive paid training and licensing support and will be expected to complete all required licensing within the first 90 days of employment.

Compensation

This is a performance-driven position with a combination of financial stability and opportunity to earn more through results.

Expected annual compensation $45,000–$70,000

Compensation includes

  • Competitive base salary
  • Uncapped commission opportunities
  • Performance bonuses
  • Licensing reimbursement

Successful team members who embrace training, build strong customer relationships, and consistently achieve sales goals have the opportunity to earn toward the top of the range.

Benefits

We invest in the people who invest in our agency.

  • Fully paid Gold health insurance
  • Paid Time Off after 90 days
  • Paid training
  • Licensing reimbursement
  • Commission and performance bonuses
  • Retirement plan eligibility beginning January 1, 2027
  • Consistent Monday–Friday schedule
  • No nights or weekends
  • Full-time, in-office position in Glenmont, NY

Work Hard. Have Fun. Create Reasons to Celebrate.

We take our jobs seriously—but we don’t believe work has to feel serious every minute of the day.

We intentionally create an energetic, positive environment where accomplishments are recognized and success is celebrated.

That might mean Fun Day Friday, a team lunch, a Starbucks or Untamed Nutrition run, celebrating a milestone, creating something ridiculous for social media, or recognizing someone who crushed a goal.

And then there are the office cats.

They’re part of the culture too.

We work hard to create opportunities worth celebrating—and when we create them, we celebrate.

Our Hiring Philosophy

We’re not searching for the perfect résumé.
We’re searching for the right person.
Someone with energy.
Someone with integrity.
Someone with initiative.
Someone who naturally builds relationships.
Someone who wants their effort to directly influence their success.
We can teach insurance.
We can coach sales.
But the drive to get up every day, meet people, create opportunities, and make things happen has to come from you.

If that’s how you’re wired, we’d like to meet you.
